February 8, 2026

Issued February 4, 2026 by the NCVEC , some questions to the General Class and Extra Class Question Pools have been removed. Why are they being removed? Well ham radio operators in the US will gain some new (but limited) privileges in the 60 meter band starting February 13, 2026.

  • New Segment: 5351.5–5366.5 kHz (15 kHz wide) for general use.
  • Power Limits: Max 9.15 W ERP (15 W EIRP) in the new 5351.5–5366.5 kHz range.
  • Existing Channels: 5332, 5348, 5373, and 5405 kHz remain available at 100 W ERP.
  • Modes/Bandwidth: All authorized modes (USB, CW, Digital) are allowed with a max bandwidth of 2.8 kHz.
  • Replacement: The old 5358.5 kHz channel (formerly used for JT65/digital) is now part of the new 15 kHz subband, reducing allowable power on that specific frequency from 100W to 9.15W ERP.
  • Eligibility: General class licensees or higher.

Here are the question IDs that are being removed from the current exams. These questions are not being replace, just removed. So no need to study anything new!
